The first promotion that I ever created was the Bud Light Tailgate Party at Tin Roof on Cumberland Ave. Being able to be in charge of an event and watch it succeed was an amazing feeling.

The guys and I at Merle FM were trying to come up with a promotion that would be perfect for football season. If you have never been to a football game at Neyland Stadium then your not fully understanding the importance of this promotion. We teamed up with Tin Roof and Eagle Distributing in Knoxville. We set up just outside of Tin Roof and created an enthusiastic atmosphere. That being said, it really isn't hard to create that on a game day in Knoxville. We had live music set-up on the back of our truck and a tent set up out in front of the Tin Roof. We had a prime location that none of the other radio stations in Knoxville had during the 2013 football season. We created game day shirts to sell for $5 with the smokey grey color and our logo on the shirt. The back had listed the words to Rocky Top. I have included some pictures to really allow for you to see the element.

The largest promotion I have ever participated in would be Boomsday in Knoxville. It's the largest fireworks show in the Southeast on Labor day weekend. The waterfront in Downtown Knoxville is overwhelmed with 300,000 people throughout a full day of activities before the fireworks. While working at Journal Broadcast Group we help coordinate as co-sponsors of the event. Planning for the event starts the week after the previous Boomsday and is a year long event. The day of Boomsday is an 18 hour day. Which like anything else is full of surprises, but a fun time to have by all.
