So, I have sat and thought about what you might want to know about Chris A. Miller and here it is. I come from a small town in East Tennessee called Etowah. It's an Indian name meaning Muddy River. I started in broadcasting in 2005 with a company called Brewer Broadcasting based out of Chattanooga, TN. I fell into the job by accident and fell in love, and I have been in love with broadcasting and promotions ever since. I continued my career with Citadel Broadcasting in both Chattanooga and Knoxville, TN after that, while I continued to work a full time job on the side. While I was still in the broadcasting business I was wanting more than just part time. So, I decided I needed to further my education to get ahead. I decided to go back to school at a community college in Athens, TN. While in Athens I was working as the night jock for WJSQ-WLAR, a locally owned country station. I was their nights and weekends guy until I was laid off in November of 2010. I decided at that point to move back to Knoxville that following fall and start at the University of Tennessee and complete my education. I graduated from there in December of 2014 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Communication Studies. While working on my degree I also have been able to add to my resume. I started working for Journal Broadcast Group in December of 2011 where I was a promotions assistant and on air personality for the country station Q100.3. I left Journal in July of 2013 to take on the role of Promotions Director at Merle 96.7 WMYL in Knoxville. Here I learned how to run a promotions department and work with a budget. While there we were nominated for an ACM Radio Station of the Year in a Medium Market. I left there in January 2014 to finish school. I was just hired on as a part time status for on air and promotions at B97.5, which is the number 1 radio station in the Knoxville market.
When I am not working I love the outdoors and just being on the water. Whether it be the lake, river, or ocean that is somewhere you will find me if I am not behind the microphone. Also, golf courses and softball fields are my weaknesses. I love to do both, but it all goes back to wanting to be outside when I have the time.
